This is what we call a 'milk coma'

This past Monday, May 18th, was Caitlin’s 1 month birthday – Happy Birthday Caitlin!

Today (3 days later) we went in for a weight check and she is continuing to gain weight at or above the target rate – hooray!  Since we were already at the hospital, she and I also went to a Survival for New Moms meeting – a get together on Wednesdays or Thursdays facilitated by the hospital. Today they had a guest speaker talking about relationships and how they change with the arrival of baby.  The speaker also talked at length about the impact of sleep deprivation.  I know all you experienced parents are smiling right now – and keep telling me that it gets better (at least until the teenage years, right :) )

There were several babies right around Caitlin’s age – but even being the same age there was quite a diversity in size and hair quantity.  It was good to chat with other moms and hear stories of similar experiences and also stories that make me appreciate what a good sleeper and eater Caitlin has been.  It was nice to get out of the house today and meet some other new moms and their babies.
